First off, I want to apologize to those of you for these horrible picutres, but something MUST be done to save these dogs at Rowan Co shelter.

Below, you will find pictures of poor Max as of today. This is the poor SENIOR boy who was so viciously attacked by 6 other dogs at the Rowan Co shelter. The vet estimates Max's age to be around 12 yrs old. This poor senior was (pad) locked in a run with 6 other LARGE, YOUNG, AGRESSIVE dogs, and he never stood a chance against them.

THE SHELTER EMPLOYEES WALKED BY THIS DOG DAILY TO CLEAN CAGES AND FEED ANIMALS APPARENTLY WAITING FOR HIM TO DIE A MISERABLE, SUFFERING DEATH, BUT CLAIM THEY NOTICED NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY????????

This poor dog had laid in this run with these other dogs for at least 3 days following this vicious attack, which almost claimed his life. If not for myself and Debbie going to this shelter on Saturday, he would have certainly perished by Monday. It was fate that we went that day, as Debbie was going to wait and go Tuesday.

Max is not out of the woods yet, but much more stable. He has been eating and drinking today, and actually made an effort to wag his tail when I visted him today. I took him 3 soft chewy treats, and he seemed so thankful. I sat with him in his run for while just talking to him and petting him and trying to confort his as best I could.

I have enclosed these pictures so everyone will realize what cold-hearted and calius people are working (and running) the Rowan Co shelter. I called and left a message with the Rowan Co Judge Exec, and he was so concerned with the situation, HE DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER RETURNING MY CALL. But it is okay, I made a promise to Max and all the other suffering dogs at this shelter, and this so called judge exec. WILL have to answer for this.

I have also been contacted by a local paper and will be doing a story on Rowan shelter and Max. Peta has been contacted along with HSUS and all Ky officals so they are aware of the neglect that is going on in Rowan Co. PLEASE CALL THE ROWAN CO JUDGE EXEC AND GIVE HIM YOUR COMMENTS ON THIS SITUATION. He needs to take IMMEDIATE action for the safety of these animals. I have listed his contact info below along with the vet's info if anyone would like to donate toward Max's vet bill. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
