Franklin County Animal Control

Louisburg, North Carolina

Hello -
My name is "Kennel number" - I don't have a name like the typical incarcerated prisoner on Death Row in Franklin County, North Carolina.

The difference is, I'm a very pregnant young female dog.

What was my crime? Why was I convicted to death row???

Why am I here? How could the Jury convict me to a gas chamber while I'm ready to give birth any day now??

My crime is "I was born". I'm a beautiful Labrador retriever mix who is just looking for someone, anyone, to "bail me out" and let me birth my puppies.

My "owner" turned me in because I was pregnant. Why did he have to bring me to a place where they gas all animals including pregnant mamas??

My God, someone help me?? I can feel my puppies inside me moving!

This concrete floor is cold and hard, and I'm starving. There is not enough food for me to provide nourishment to my unborn babies.

What's that? A kick?? I love when they kick! I swear they are playing games in my belly!

I'm so scared... I never had one good thing happen in my life, but being pregnant is making me so happy and maternal..

I love each one of my unborn babies inside of me. I promised them that I will take care of them, love them, and make sure that they are adopted in wonderful loving homes.

I heard from one of the other "prisoners", that since there is no space, that they are going to put me and my unborn babies in the gas chamber!

Oh God NO! Please!! NO!

It's a known fact that pregnant dogs suffer extreme pain when put in the gas chamber!

And what about my puppies??

Puppies take longer to die in a gas chamber and twice as long when they are inside me!

Oh Dear Lord! Another "prisoner" has said that there has been cases, where the puppies are still alive for a while the mama is dead in the gas chamber!

No, please! This can't happen! They are just babies! They are puppies!

Like me, they didn't ask to be born! All we want is belllyrubs and an occasional "I love you."

And this gas chamber! It's an old one that doesn't have compartments!

What if they put me in with another "inmate" who gets scared and starts to attack me and my babies??!!!

This is not fair! I did not ask to be born! I did not ask to be chained to a fence all my life!

I will fight the gas with all my might! I swear to you my babies, I will fight with all my might to keep you alive for as long as I can.

I believe it's against NC law to gas a pregnant dog, but it's happening now!

They are putting me in the gas chamber! Oh My GOD!! Please Animcal Control officer, STOP!

My babies!!

Take me, but let my babies live!!

I wont fight you, because I don't have the strength from being so pregnant, tired and hungry...

Please AC officer, I beg you, just have a vet tech or vet come in and give me a painless shot! I promise you I wont bite, you don't even have to give me food or water. Just let my babies die quickly and without pain!

I'm begging you, they are my babies!! My innocent, sweet, beautiful babies!

It's happening, Dear God they are putting me in the chamber now!

Dear Lord, please, I beg you, just give me one more chance! I promise to be the best mama dog in the world! I promise not chew on any shoes or chase cats!

Please ... if not for me. For my babies! The door is closing now! Oh GOD! I can't breathe! Someone ... please help my babies.........
